We believe that children learn languages best through "one educator-one language." Therefore, there is always one English-speaking and one Swedish-speaking educator in each group. The third educator can speak either language but remains consistent in their choice. Language is like a thread running through all our activities.
Sustainability and health
We offer a healthy diet, with all fruit being organic, and we provide organic milk for our meals. Our food is delivered from Kleins Kitchen, and we also have a kitchen educator who assists in serving meals to our departments. The preschool is sugar-smart and avoids...
Joy, empathy and respect
We find much inspiration in both the Reggio Emilia philosophy and the Montessori approach. We also believe that children have a hundred languages and should have the opportunity to express themselves in various ways. Children should be able to try as many as possible, create, test, and experiment with a wide range of materials.
Our workplan and prioritized goals
In addition to basing our activities on the preschool curriculum, we also create our own work plan with prioritized goals. In it, we have the opportunity to clarify certain areas on which we want to focus a bit more. At the beginning of each new year, our preschool selects three goals in our work with the Green Flag and sustainable development. This year, we have also placed extra emphasis on language and music.
Clarity and openness
At Engelska Förskolan Norrmalm, we believe in promoting an inclusive and caring environment where each child's uniqueness is celebrated and valued. Our commitment to diversity is not just a sentiment; it is a cornerstone of our educational philosophy.
In line with the guidelines set forth in the Preschool Curriculum 2018 (LPFÖ 18) and inspired by Goal 4 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we have developed an Equal Treatment Plan.
Parent cooperation
For us, fostering strong parent collaboration is important. We have a PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) where at least one parent from each group participates, and together, we focus on how we can enhance the preschool experience.
During our initial contact with new guardians, we emphasize the value we place on communication and stress how much their input matters to us.
