Engelska förskolan is a bilingual preschool following the Swedish curriculum.

In our preschools, it is important that everyone feels welcome and that everyone is treated with respect and kindness. In everything we do, we base ourselves on our core values of JOY, EMPATHY, and RESPECT. We aim to have a close and good collaboration with the children's guardians in our everyday life, but also through recurring parent councils with the opportunity to create various interest groups. Equality is important to us, and we want to highlight and embrace our differences as well as the diversity of cultural traditions and holidays represented in the groups of children.

Health and Green Flag

We are a Green Flag certified preschool where, through various projects, we focus on creating sustainable habits together with the children. A healthy lifestyle is an important part of everyday life at the preschool, where we emphasize physical activities by spending a lot of time outdoors and utilizing various parks and the playground nearby. We strive for our meals to be healthy, and one way to work smart with sugar is by using natural sweeteners such as fruit instead of sugar. Of course, the children also get involved in baking!

Jolly Phonics and Före Bornholmsmodellen

The preschool utilizes Jolly Phonics and the Before Bornholm Model as methods to playfully stimulate the children's language awareness and future reading ability. Jolly Phonics is a multisensory approach to teaching phonetics, involving actions, songs, and games to help children learn letter sounds and how to read and write. The Before Bornholm Model focuses on promoting language development through play, encouraging children to communicate and express themselves in a safe and supportive environment.

Digital Tools

At Engelska Förskolan Norrmalm we strive to ensure that digital tools complement the work done with more traditional teaching methods. Integrating digital technology helps children recognize patterns and sequences through shapes, colors, and music. Children can explore activities using tools such as Blue-Bot, Easi-Scope, QR codes, VR (virtual reality), and AR (augmented reality). Digital tools are available to all our children, providing them with the best possible start in the digital world they are growing up in.
